Happy New Year-Resolve to not be resolute

I didn't make a real "resolution" this year for New Years.
Think about that word, resolution.  Re-Solution.
The root of the word-solution means of solving a problem or dealing with a difficult situation.
Re is the prefix for doing it again.

Do you approach the world by doing the same things over and over?  Could it be that you are looking to solve the same problem over and over but are not successful because you haven't set an achievable goal.  Maybe it is how you set your goals.

Instead of saying you will lose weight this year, make it into a goal of eating a balanced diet but including treats that are a healthier version or get yourself moving 20 minutes a day but for six days a week.  These are things you can do.  If you miss a day, you haven't failed.  At the end of the year, you can continue to do the same, not retry again.

Solution also means:  a liquid mixture in which the minor component (the solute) is uniformly distributed within the major component (the solvent).   Life should be a solution.  Some good comes our way. some bad comes our way.  You take the good with the bad in life and keep moving forward.  A positive outlook on life will make a difference to your health, your choices, your personal happiness.  Isn't that really what your New Year's view of life should be about?

Happy New Year!

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.  Buddha
